Witches Healing the Earth: The Earth Realm

Objective

The Earth Realm is focused on environmental and ecological issues of land, sea, and sky. Local, national, and global ecological crises and triumphs are overseen by this Realm. The Earth Realm also includes animal activism and protecting endangered species.

Duties & Responsibilities

The Earth Realm has a heavy focus on ecological-based activism, information, and volunteerism and is responsible for the following:

• Content creation (videos, graphics, articles) raising awareness of various ecological issues around the globe. This includes writing articles for the website, creating graphics for social media, and even making videos that educate and inspire.

• Connecting and working with environmental charities to research and identify the most productive ways Witches Healing the Earth can show up for ecological causes. Networking with other ecological organizations is highly encouraged, provided the organizations are vetted thoroughly.

• Disseminating information via articles, graphics, and other WHE content to the masses. This means both creation of that content as well as posting it to social media, sharing it with friends and family, etc.

• Organizing worldwide activities and events that people can participate in from wherever they are in the world. Some ideas of past events include: Cleaning up local waterways for Imbolc and World Wetlands Day, planting trees on Arbor Day, setting Earth Day Resolutions, participating in Earth Hour, etc.

• Creating Animal Magick posts that feature animals on their national/global holiday (such as the Zebra on International Zebra Day). These posts will be shared on the website and all social media platforms.

• Organizing and overseeing earth-based petitions (e.g. petitions to stop oil fracking at a specific site, petitions to stop deforestation, etc.). This includes communicating the petitions to the public and encouraging people to spread the word.

• And more as the Earth Realm evolves and grows.

Role Needed

Earth Realm Committee Head: Your role will consist of overseeing and leading other members within the Earth Realm. You will be looked to as a source of leadership and guidance for your Realm and will take responsibility for reviewing the contributions your entire team makes to Witches Healing the Earth.

Earth Realm Event Coordinator: Your responsibilities include identifying opportunities for community outreach via virtual and in-person events (as health and safety allow) as well as organizing and facilitating earth-based events, environmental cleanups, charitable fundraisers for ecological causes, etc.

Earth Realm Social Media Content Creator: Your role consists of gathering footage and photography of events and volunteerism as well as creating graphics and marketing materials for upcoming events organized by the Earth Realm. Content must be reviewed and approved by the Air Realm.

Earth Realm Political Outreach Manager: Your role consists of drafting letters to legislators, senators, representatives, and members of local political office. You will also be responsible for keeping yourself informed on all environmental and ecological current events and distributing petitions as they align with the goals and purpose of Witches Healing the Earth. Petitions shared may be started by other individuals or groups, or they may be created by Witches Healing the Earth.
